Shopping and Sisterhood: All about Sister Swap Barbados

I can promise you that women working together – linked, informed and educated – can bring peace and prosperity to this forsaken planet. – Isabel Allende

Every now and then I come across a concept that really excites me. A few months ago I was on Facebook and I somehow found myself on the Sister Swap Barbados page.

After just a little reading I realized this was the answer to two of the most common problems fashionistas face: having closets overflowing with clothes you never wore or only wore once and not being able to afford the brands you really like. It is also a pretty cool way for women to help each other.

Sister Swap is a fashion exchange shopping network. If you have new or gently used clothes or accessories that you know a sister would love and wear more often than you do, this is the opportunity to make it available to her.

If you simply want to purchase brands like Nine West, Banana Republic J. Crew and French Connection at a fraction of the usual cost, there’s a month-end event for you to do just that.

Watch the video above which gives you more details.

You can also visit the Sister Swap Facebook page’s About Section for additional info.

I haven’t been able to attend any of the events as yet but I’ll be there this Saturday at Oceans 15 in Dover, Christ Church. It takes place from 3 to 6 and I’ll be looking for not just a bargain, but all you fabulous bargain hunting fashionistas.

If you go, look out for me and my camera. If you can’t make it, I’ll be doing a review post after the event so you won’t miss anything … Except of course the opportunity to grab items like these for a really good price.
