Fashionably on Time: Watch Trends

A wristwatch probably doesn’t seem all that important anymore. These days we have myriad devices which do way more than tell the time: laptops, tablets and of course that smartphone that’s practically an extension of your hand.

Still, I believe the timepiece is timeless AND stylish. There’s no reason why you can’t see it as just another accessory to accentuate your outfits. If you choose to wear one, make sure it’s a stylish one.

So if you’re still rocking that same old gold or silver watch from way back purely out of habit, here are a few ways to update your look.

If you want to find out where these can be purchased, see my article in The COCO Magazine here.

Wrap watches

Think of these as an already planned arm party. It’s one piece but it has a lot of detail and a heavy dose of style.

Charm watches

Charm bracelets are cute, whimsical and always fun but when you add a fully functioning watch as the centre piece, they become very functional as well. Let your inner child come out to play.

Menswear inspired

If you’ve been known to prefer your boyfriend’s watch over those girly ones people keep giving you as gifts, a menswear-inspired piece is for you. They have larger faces and chunky bracelets but they can come in metals like rose gold or feature bright pink elements (totally not what your boyfriend would actually wear!)

Silicone or jelly strap watches

For a sportier look, silicone straps can’t be beat. They’re very casual but they come in a range of colours and designs so they’re anything but ordinary.
