It’s Complicated…

Never use the word “cheap”. Today everybody can look chic in inexpensive clothes (the rich buy them too). There is good clothing design on every level today. You can be the chicest thing in the world in a T-shirt and jeans — it’s up to you.

I have a love-hate relationship with this dress… which is probably why I look so unimpressed in the photo….

I absolutely love how it looks when it’s on but it’s a nightmare to get on and especially to take off. The buttons on the front are just a front since they can’t be undone. It does however have a short zip in the side which is all the ease the manufacturers thought I would need.

Something this cute just shouldn’t be so difficult! Whenever I wear it I have to writhe and wiggle and sigh once in the morning and again in the evening.

Yes, I could do something about the buttons but like most alterations I CAN do, I never really do them.

I’ve had the dress for two to three years. I really can’t remember but I know I bought it to wear to work on my birthday. I think it’s safe to say I won’t fixing the button issue.

Anyway, since grey is such a boring colour, I brought out my Miche big bag (with the Sophie shell) which holds everything and leaves room for anything I pick up during the course of my day. It’s practically bigger than me!

Do you have any pieces of clothing that are a terror to get in and out of or is it just me?

Photoshoot!

Shoes transform your body language and attitude. They lift you physically and emotionally.”

You may remember the pants in these shots from my super quick trip to H&M. I fell in love with them the first time I saw them so I decided to use them for this photoshoot even before I actually wore them anywhere.

I stuck to a  more edgy black and white this time but when I was playing around with the styling (playing dress up) I found a way to add some colour. If I ever wear what I came up with I’ll let you have a look.

But for now, it’s all about silver studded shoes, loads of black and white bangles and bracelets and the second earcuff I scored on my trip.

Independence Outfit Suggestion 1: Casual-ish

I’m not a jeans and t-shirt girl; never have been, never will.

So following on from yesterday’s post this is my version of a relatively low-keyed blue, yellow and black ensemble which doesn’t scream “flag”.

The flats add a funky touch which makes it cool for daytime but the lace details on the top add the little bit of “oomph” that I think all outfits should have.

In this case I kept the accessories to a minimum but a simpler top and a nice necklace could work as well.
