Caribbean Sandal Brands You Need to Know

When we think about regional fashion creatives we don’t often think about Caribbean shoe brands. Clothing, bags and jewellery tend to get all the shine since there are definitely more people making them.

And of course, those leather craftsmen who can be found on virtually every island usually aren’t on social media. It’s more of a word of mouth/stumble across them in the city kinda thing.

This post highlights some of the more well-known brands but it is by no means exhaustive. Feel free to comment with other brands and shoemakers you know so I can include them.

Sandal makers in Jamaica

Jamaica Sandal Company

Lucy Sandals

Caribbean Sandals Company

Bridget Sandals

Bridget Sandals haven’t updated their social media pages or website in several years. I’m still including the brand since this was one of the first major Caribbean sandal brands. From what I can gather the store in Kingston is still open.

3 Vincentian Easter Collections I’m Loving (and a Trini Line Too)

My Instagram timeline has been looking fabulous these past few days! In case you weren’t aware, Easter collections are a thing in St Vincent and the Grenadines with several events taking place around that time.

Both Poshelle and Shernicia Mayers have been  releasing gorgeous designs over the last few days.  Kamille launched her line back in February and according to her IG, she was quickly fully booked.

Update: Rachel Bailey also launched Elixir by ENVE so I’ve added two of her pieces as well.

Take a look at all this talent.
