At the start of this year I did a post on how to get ready quickly since many of us are so pressed for time in the morning.
If you have all that covered and wanna try something new, here’s what I came up with when I went back to work after vacation a few weeks ago: Pick a theme for the week.
It can be based on a particular colour combination, focused on a certain accessory, or just what works best with your plans for the week. If it’s going to be a week of meetings, maybe blazers are best for the office environment. If you’re going to be on your feet, maybe you can centre your outfits around stylish but comfortable flats. You get the idea.
I opted to focus on colour combinations. For the first week I stuck to black and white with pops of colour.
This week I’m doing nudes/neutrals. Sticking to black and white with pops of colour last week worked out well so I’m trying the “theme” thing again. I find it challenges me to be creative but it also helps to narrow down the options I can choose from. I’ll do a blog post later this week on this. #fashion #dressuporstayhome #fashionblog A photo posted by InMyWardrobe (@inmywardrobebarbados) on
For week three I did mainly combos of bright colours but I had no time for photos.
It’s not every week that I’ll do a theme; sometimes I just want to go with the flow when I wake up. However, having a plan is helpful for two reasons. 1. It narrows down your options on any given day/week and that’s great if you have an extensive wardrobe. 2. It’s a way to challenge your creativity and try out new looks.
Try it for a week and let me know how it goes!
