Let’s Talk Skincare!

I made a very necessary trip to Pure Source-Barbados earlier this week since I was out of all of my “special” skincare products.

My everyday routine for my face is extra simple (and outlined at the end of this post) but then I add in some indulgences.

In recent times, I’d been using the REN Clear Calm cleanser and mask weekly and the REN Radiance range monthly or whenever my skin needed a little pick-me-up.  I seriously considered buying  the same products again  since they worked quite well but I like experimenting. (Variety is the spice of life and all that.)

So here’s what I bought:

1. REN Kit for Normal Skin which includes Rosa Centrifola Cleansing Gel, Vita-Mineral Day Cream, Glycolatic Radiance Renewal Mask and Frankincense Revitalising Night Cream.

I think this is a good way to sample REN products since they aren’t cheap. They are however derived from plants and minerals and free from synthetic products. Sure, lots of manufacturers make that claim but this stuff actually FEELS (and smells) different.

2. Moroccan Natural Organic Argan Glow. This is my first time trying this line but this combination of argan and sea buckthorn oil is supposed to moisturize, make skin glow and assist with acne and acne scars. I’m not too fond of the smell but I’ll sure I get accustomed and I’ll see if I notice any difference in my skin.

3. Erbavia Vanilla Grapefruit Lipbalm. I love the flavour of this! I haven’t had any issues using Nivea or Burt Bees  products but again, there’s just something different about going organic.

Now … if you live in Barbados, you would know that product samples are hard to come by.  But you get them at Pure Source.

I received Eau D’Italie Un Bateau Pour Capri perfume, Green People Organic SPF 15 sun lotion and Green People Gentle Cleanse and Make-Up Remover.

I like the perfume but the full size retails for BDS$415 so this sample will have to do. I’ll probably end up getting the make-up remover  and I haven’t tried the sun lotion yet.

If you haven’t checked out Pure Source yet, you can view their website, Facebook or pay them a visit at Limegrove Lifestyle Centre. You will need to take a bit of cash but it’ll probably be worth it.

Here are my usual, and very affordable, daily products that I mentioned earlier:

Cleanse: Black soap at night, Clean & Clear or Neutrogena scrub in the morning

Tone: Humphrey’s Witch Hazel to tone

Moisturise: Clean and Clear Morning Glow for day and Ponds Clarant B3 at night.

Your turn now. What are some of your skincare staples? Do you splurge on any products?
